Data Source Limits

From DMXDeepInsight
Jump to: navigation, search

Data sources that you use with DeepInsight must conform to these limits.

File limits

Any file you import to DeepInsight must be 10 MB or smaller.

Table and query limits

Any table and query result you import into DeepInsight must be 50 MB or smaller. If the result exceeds 50 MB, then DeepInsight truncates the exceeding data and shows a warning message to the user.

Supported datatypes

DeepInsight currently supports the following datatypes. If a field belongs to a datatype that does not conform with the above-mentioned datatypes norm, then it gets converted into varchar datatype.

Date Datatypes Numeric Datatypes String Datatypes Boolean Datatypes
  • date
  • time
  • timestamp
  • integer
  • bignit
  • float
  • double
  • decimal
  • varchar
  • longvarbinary
  • boolean

Supported date formats

DeepInsight supports the use of date and time formats (both 24 hr and am/pm). It also supports dates in the range from Jan 1, 1900, 00:00:00 UTC to Dec 31, 2055, 23:59:59 UTC. For data sources, DeepInsight recognizes this standard date formats.

Custom date formats

You can define different date formats or date time formats from those shipped via DeepInsight. You specify a custom date using a set of format symbols, which are listed in the table below.

Symbol Component Example
G Era designator AD
Y Year 1996; 96
Y Week year 2009; 09
M Month in year July; Jul; 07
W Week in year 27
W Week in month 2
D Day in year 189
d Day in month 10
F Day of week in month 2
E Day name in week Tuesday; Tue
u Day number of week (1 = Monday, ..., 7 = Sunday) 1
a AM/PM PM
H Hour in day (0-23) 0
k Hour in day (1-24) 24
K Hour in am/pm (0-11) 0
h Hour in am/pm (1-12) 12
m Minute in hour 30
s Second in minute 55
S Millisecond 978
z Time zone (General time zone) Pacific Standard Time; PST; GMT-08:00
Z Time zone (RFC 822-time zone) -0800
X Time zone (ISO 8601-time zone) -08; -0800; -08:00

Specify custom date format

You can specify a custom date/date and time format during datatype verification for any datatype other than Date datatype. Follow the instructions below to specify a custom date/date and time format.

  1. In the Verify Datatype dialog, identify the datatype for which you want to specify a custom date/date and time format.
  2. In the drop-down list next to the identified datatype, select Date.
  3. In the Date text box, type the new format. After you have made the changes, click Apply.
