Overview

You can publish your visualizations (worksheets & dashboards) with public access or with a private login. The following are the access modes you can choose while generating a URL for a sheet.

  • Public: Users will not require DeepInsight login to access your published visualizations. When you publish to the web, your visualization can be viewed by anyone on the Internet.
  • Private: Only users with whom you have shared your visualization can view it after logging into DeepInsight. When you use this mode for publishing, you create/choose a group and then publish to that group.

Note:

  • You cannot publish sheets shared with you.
  • Published sheets are read-only links.
  • Published sheets are identified with a P icon in the Status column. If it is orange, the sheet is shared privately, and it is blue, it is shared publicly.

Publish to the web

  1. In the My Sheets panel, in the Actions column, identify the sheet you want to publish to the web, and then click Publish.png.
  2. In the Publish dialog, ensure you are in the Public tab.
  3. In the Public tab, copy the auto-generated link and then click Publish.
  4. After the sheet is published, share the URL in the desired means of communication.

Publish to a user group

  1. In the My Sheets panel, in the Actions column, identify the sheet you want to publish to the web, and then click Publish.png.
  2. In the Publish dialog, click the Private tab, and then do the following:
    • In the Enter Context combo box, create a new context. Alternatively, choose an existing context from the drop-down list. Context is a group to which you add users. The context you select will have access to your published sheet.
    • In the Search and Select Users field, type the usernames. DeepInsight auto-populates the list of DeepInsight users based on the keywords. You can add multiple usernames.
    • Click Publish. The usernames are added to the Published Users list, and the context is created.
    • Copy the URL and then click Publish. You can share the URL in the desired means of communication with your group.

Users with whom you have shared your sheet can view the published sheets in their Collaborative Gallery of their Homepage. DeepInsight also shows a notification on their toolbar.

Unpublish a sheet

  1. In the My Sheets panel, in the Actions column, identify the sheet you want to unpublish, and then click Publish.png.
  2. In the Publish dialog,
    • If you are unpublishing a sheet published on the web, open the Public tab and click Unpublish.
    • If you are unpublishing a sheet published with a specific set of users, open the Private tab, then select the context, and then click Unpublish.
